The origins of our name
Cantabia /can-TAY-bee-ah/ or /kænˈteɪ bi ə/
- A minor planet in our solar system discovered by J. H. Metcalf in 1913 (Astronomical Data)
- The planet was named in honor of Cambridge, Massachusetts where The Cantabia Group (TCG) was founded. Cantabia is a contraction of Cantabrigia, Latin for Cambridge.
- Cantabia orbits the sun between the perils of Mars, Roman god of war, and Jupiter, god of lightning and thunder.
- The orbital inclination of Cantabia is more than five times greater than that of either Mars or Jupiter providing a vantage point not available from earth.
- Although small in size, the gravity of Cantabia influences the orbits of other planetary bodies in close proximity.
Like the planet, The Cantabia Group has a history of navigating among dynamic and competing forces, bringing viewpoints from different orbits to establish stable trajectories. Unlike the planet, our services are accessible right here on earth. Learn more about our services here.
